If you like tomato juice and partake in alcoholic beverages, more than likely you have your own version of the “Best Bloody Mary.” I’m going to share my concoction with you all today. The tricky thing about a bloody mary is that there is usually not an exact measurement or recipe to follow. It’s always altered to whatever taste you like and prefer. Ours is slightly spicy and if my sister is making it – it’s really spicy but not so much that you wouldn’t want to drink it. It’s an art really! Although each time I make this drink it’s never the same amount of each ingredient, it is, however, always a combination of the ingredients listed. And it’s always delicious! So much so I even got the husband hooked. Enjoy!! Thanks for stopping by!
Spicy Bloody Mary
Ingredients
- Spicy Hot V8 Juice (fill glass about 3/4 of the way, combine ingredients and then fill glass up the rest of the way)
- 3-4 tbsp vodka (1 shot or a little more depending on your taste)
- 1-2 tbsp pickle juice
- 1 – 1 1/2 tsp horseradish
- 2 drops Worcestershire Sauce
- 1-2 dashes celery salt
- Black pepper, to taste (I usually use about 1/2 turn on the pepper grinder)
- Juice of 1 lime wedge
- Franks Red Hot, to taste (optional)
1. Combine tomato juice, vodka, pickle juice, horseradish, lime juice, and 3-4 ice cubes in a glass. Combine with a spoon. Add Worcestershire Sauce, celery salt, and pepper. Stir together. Garnish with pickle or celery stalk. Enjoy!
Notes:
- I normally do not coat the rim of my glass in seasonings, but it looked good for the picture. :) If you would like to add this special touch, combine seasoned salt, pepper, and salt in a plate. Using a lime wedge, run the lime over the rim of the glass. Place rim in seasonings.
- Although I do like me some Franks, I tend not to use it in this recipe because I think it’s a little overpowering. I like more of the tomato juice flavor. My sister on the other hand loves it in hers. If you like Franks, give it a try. If you don’t like the outcome, switch to a bigger cup and add more tomato juice or start all over.

Try rimming the glass with Old Bay.
